Functions Of The Car Front Bumper
Aerodynamic Design
Many front bumpers feature an aerodynamic design that helps reduce wind resistance, improving fuel economy and vehicle stability.
Integrated Advanced Technology
Car front bumpers often have built-in sensors and cameras to support advanced driver assistance systems, such as automatic emergency braking and lane keeping assist, enhancing the driving experience and safety.
Aesthetics
The design of the front bumper matches the overall appearance of the vehicle, enhancing its visual appeal and brand image.
Surface Finishing of Car Front Bumper – Polish / Texture
The product surface is finely ground using 600# sandpaper or equivalent abrasive tools to eliminate roughness and imperfections, ensuring a smooth, uniform finish. This process enhances the gloss and overall appearance of the car front bumper. Following polishing, texturing is applied to elevate the bumper’s visual appeal and decorative quality, aligning with the automotive industry’s demand for both aesthetic precision and functional durability in molded components.
Parting Line Design of Car Front Bumper
In mold design, parting lines, and slider lines play a key role in the injection molding process. Red lines are the parting lines, and blue lines are the parting lines of sliders.
Draft Angle Analysis of Car Front Bumper
Draft angle analysis is essential in plastic product design to verify if the geometry allows for smooth demolding.
In Figure 2, the two surfaces on the slide lack a draft angle. To ensure smooth slide release during molding, reducing the material to add a 2-degree draft angle in the slide release direction is recommended. This modification enhances release efficiency, minimizes surface defects, and prolongs mold life. Optimizing the lifter design ensures consistent product quality and reduces downtime or mold damage caused by release issues.
Slider Design of Car Front Bumper
Sliders and their parting lines, ejectors, and parting lines are key elements in mold design. Sliders are used to form complex internal structures or lateral holes, and the Slider’s parting lines are the interfaces between the Slider and the rest of the mold to ensure smooth movement during mold opening and closing.
While the ejector lifter is used to eject the molded product, the Lifter parting lines are the boundary between the ejector and the mold, ensuring a smooth and damage-free ejection process. The accurate design and processing of these parting lines is the key to ensuring the mold’s proper functioning and high product quality.
Sub-Insert Design of Car Front Bumper
Sub-inserts are typically made from hardened materials to withstand repeated cycles and can be easily replaced during maintenance, reducing downtime. By isolating critical sections, sub-inserts improve mold longevity and simplify repairs, while also allowing for precise adjustments to part dimensions or surface finishes.
Ejector Design of Car Front Bumper
In the car front bumper mold design, the yellow parts represent Ø6 ejector pins, and the pink parts are Ø4 ejector pins. These pins are crucial for ejecting the molded product from the mold, ensuring smooth demolding and maintaining product integrity. Different diameters are strategically placed to distribute ejection force evenly, preventing deformation or damage. The Ø6 pins are used in areas requiring higher ejection force, while the Ø4 pins are applied where less force is needed. This approach not only enhances mold performance but also extends its service life and boosts productivity.
Gate Type & Location & Size of Car Front Bumper
The design incorporates a YUDO hot nozzle with cold runners and curved tunnel gates, featuring a gate diameter of 1.2 mm. To optimize performance, the material thickness in the gate area was reduced to create a proper gate recess. This adjustment promotes smoother material flow during injection, minimizes material waste, and enhances the quality of the bumper bracket parts.
Mold Layout of Car Front Bumper
Reasonable mold layout design needs to take into account factors such as the injection molding machine, mold, cooling system, operating space and molded product removal to ensure the efficient operation of the production process and the quality of the final product.
Packing Delivery
Before delivery, we will fully maintain and clean the molds to make sure the surface of the molds are smooth and internal impurities. Then anti-shock material and protective padding are packed and put into wooden crates and labeled with model and quantity information.
