Coil Coating
What’s Coil Coating?
Coil coating involves feeding metal or plastic sheets into the coating process in coiled form. After uncoiling, pretreatment, coating, and curing are completed, ultimately resulting in a coiled product.
- Continuous Automation: Workpieces enter the production line in coiled form and undergo pretreatment, coating, and curing processes before being converted into coils, enabling efficient production.
- High-speed Operation: During the coating process, the metal substrate travels at speeds of 100-200 m/min, combined with a rapid bake (up to 250°C for approximately 45 seconds) to ensure rapid curing of the coating.
- Double-sided Coating: This typically utilizes a two-coat, two-bake process, coating both sides simultaneously. This involves applying a primer, baking, finishing coat, and a second bake.

What are the advantages of coil coating compared to traditional spray painting?
-
High Efficiency: Continuous production with speeds up to 200 meters per minute, far exceeding conventional spraying;
-
Eco-Friendly & Energy-Saving: Enclosed systems minimize solvent emissions with low VOC release and reduced energy consumption;
-
Uniform Coating: Automated control guarantees consistent thickness without drips or orange peel effects;
-
Cost-Effective: Lower labor and space requirements result in reduced overall costs.
Where are coil-coated products typically used?
- Building Materials: Color steel sheets, aluminum cladding, roofing panels;
- Appliance Housings: Refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioner panels;
- Transportation: Automotive parts, shipping containers, high-speed train interiors;
- Industrial Packaging: Metal cans, bottle caps, etc.
